2016 will definitely be an important year for the GRAVI-2 project. We recently had a new member in our team, François BIZET, which was hired by CNES in September 2015. François received a PhD in plant and forest biology from the University of Lorraine, France. During his thesis, François worked on root growth with a kinematic point of view and developed a partnership with the James Hutton Institute (Dundee, Scotland) for a biomechanical characterization of the root apex. His postdoctoral research project is partly dedicated to the analysis of the GRAVI-2 project. Since September, several analysis were started on the GRAVI-2 samples and we think that time has come to make a summary of what have been done since September and what is planned for the coming months.
